The Virtual Traffic Department (VTD) offers many time saving features to third party logistics companies. They include:
Shipper Route Compliance – The VTD offers 3PL’s the ability to manage complex shipper routings, reducing the number of times a shipper will deviate from the 3PL designated carriers.
Automated BOL Auditing – Shipment costs can be estimated prior to a shipment ever leaving the customers dock. The VTD takes the cost estimate and compares it to the electronic freight invoice. Should they not match, a detailed explanation is generated and sent along with the freight invoice to an audit and pay software package like the enVision suite.
Freight Damage Notifications – This feature allows the 3PL to be proactive in assisting its customers with damage claims when they arise. Damage notifications are sent when the carrier or consignee note damage.
Full enVision Suite integration – The VTD seamlessly integrates with the enVision suite audit, payment and reporting software.
LTL Brokerage Module – The VTD allows for a variety of different fee structures including brokering LTL shipments. The VTD is able to keep track of what pricing the shipper customer was quoted and what pricing the freight carrier is expected to charge and generating reports displaying the difference.

Carrier Cost Comparison - The VTD’s dynamic rate shopping feature allows shippers to compare carriers against each other on the basis of cost, transit time, or personal preference. By giving the shipper key pieces of information, such as cost and transit times, the VTD will enable them to make informed decisions about their transportation goals.
Automated Bill of Lading Creation - The key to any successful On-line service is ease-of-use and efficiency. The VTD provides both, in one easy-to-use website. When creating a bill of lading, the VTD has a simple interface and has been designed to reduce user keystrokes. All shipper, consignee, carrier address information, and client product information is stored in the VTD’s central database, which allows these portions of the bill of lading to auto populate with the least amount of key strokes possible.
Automated Carrier Shipment Notification - The time spent having to switch between systems or websites is time that could be spent doing business. The VTD reduces that time by electronically sending pickup requests to the carriers, forgoing the need for a phone call. All of the bill of lading information, as well as pickup and delivery times, are sent via electronic data interchange (EDI) to the carrier with the push of a button.
Consolidated Shipment Tracking and Tracing - Shippers with multiple carriers often have to go to multiple websites with different logins and procedures to receive vital tracking information regarding their freight. The VTD eliminates these extra steps by providing all the tracking information in one easy-to-use interface.
Transportation Management Reporting - Using data collected from the VTD, as well as the enVision suite, the VTD is able to provide detailed information about the entire transportation system, allowing you to do weekly, monthly, or even yearly analysis.
