TMS Technologies LLC is a privately-held corporation with headquarters in Alma, Michigan.
In 1982, Dave Brookhouse founded Traffic Management Services, Inc. (TMS) as a third party
logistics company. To run the operations of the company, they created a DOS-based software
system for manually auditing and paying LTL freight bills called the S*T*A*R SYSTEM. As time
went on and technology became better and better, TMS decided to create a new software package
called the enVision Suite, which was based off the current Microsoft technology available.
Once the enVision suite was out of beta testing, TMS noticed a 66% increase in efficiency.
This allowed TMS to more than double its cliental and dramatically reduce labor expense.
While at a Transportation Intermediaries Association (www.tianet.org) conference, Dave had
the opportunity to talk about and demo the enVision suite. Many companies took interest
in the software.
It was then, January 1, 2003, that Dave decided to spin off TMS’s IT department into its
own company, thus avoiding a conflict of interest when selling the enVision suite software.
This new company was called TMS Technologies LLC.
On October 1, 2007, Dave sold Traffic Management Services, Inc to C.R. England, but
retained ownership of TMS Technologies LLC.
Over the past five years, TMS Technologies LLC has expanded its products and services to
include an Online Supply Chain Visibility Freight Management System called the Virtual
Traffic Department (VTD), EDI VAN capabilities, a small package services, known as the
Small Package Module, local tech support and web server hosting.
